Miami Marine Stadium
Virginia Key and the Miami Marine Stadium is located just outside of one of Miami’s most exclusive communities, Key Biscayne. The drive to Virginia Key is among the most picturesque around. Take the Rickenbacker Causeway (the highest elevated bridge in Miami) and glance to the left for a view of shimmering Biscayne Bay and the sprawling Downtown Miami Skyline; glance to the right and witness the serene treelined streets of Coconut Grove.
Virginia Key has been home to many of Hollywood’s movies. Among them, the Original Flipper and Miami Vice TV Shows, Bad Boys 1 & 2 and the soon to be released Miami Vice movie. Virginia Key is also home to Lolita the Killer Whale, at The Miami Seaquarium, one of the world’s largest aquarium style themeparks and research centers.
Virginia Key is no stranger to sporting events: Just up the road from Board Up™ Miami is the Crandon Tennis Center, home to one of tennis’ largest tournaments: the Sony Ericsson Open; a stop on the ATP and Sony Ericsson WTA Tour.
Virginia Key is also home to some of the world’s most delicate wildlife and the University of Miami’s renowned Rosenstiel School Of Marine Biology is located there to conduct all their studies. Virginia Key may be a small island (only 80 acres), but it’s a major paradise full of sandy beaches, aquatic sports, and cozy restaurants.
